Visiting Los Angeles

This past week Sean, Rachelle, and I went to Los Angeles to visit family.   It was wonderful seeing everyone.  Diana was a trooper considering the new environment, all the new people, the lack of naps, and the heat.  Diana met many new people, some while she was awake, some while she was sleeping.

Diana took her first plane ride.  She did very well even though we had to take her out of the Baby Bjorn for take off.  She was not happy to be disturbed during her sleep.

Diana got to meet her great grandma Nani.
It was special seeing them together.

Diana was a happy girl in her great grandma's arms.
Nani was happy with Diana in her arms.

Our happy family in front of some random house.

Diana is doing wonderful with tummy time, finally!
She spent a lot of time hanging out on her blanket.  She did a lot of laughing, talking, and entertaining herself, especially in the early morning.  Nani missed a lot of Diana's talking.  If only she was wide awake at 6 A.M. like Diana.

Nani had been looking forward to feeding Diana.

So Cute!

Some of the family came over to meet Diana and have dinner.
Great Aunt Andi and Lon were lucky to meet Diana while she was awake.  Diana slept through dinner and missed meeting her cousin Justin and Great Uncle Joel and Lisa.

Cousins Nina and Craig, Great Aunt Arlene, and Great Uncle Tommy came just as Diana was waking up.  Diana did great with the parade of people coming through the house.

Diana went in the pool for the first time.

Mom and Dad enjoyed the pool more than Diana.

We went to Santa Monica and took a walk along the beach.  Diana sat in the sand for the first time.  This was not an exciting event for her.  She seemed indifferent about the sand.  Dad ran down to feel the ocean.

It's surprising how often Nani got to hold Diana considering their opposite sleep schedules.

Diana was wonderful on our trip home.  She stayed calm, even though mom and dad both had words for the TSA officials.  She slept through the majority of the plane ride and woke up just in time to have a bottle on the way down.

We all enjoyed our trip, but are glad to be home.  Diana's sleep is back to normal.  Mom and Dad are very happy.  Our first night home she slept 8 1/2 hours.
