Construction:The Chaos

The walls have been opened up and our kitchen and laundry do not exist. We are making due for the moment. We've had a lot of offers to stay with friends and family. Thanks! I think we'll be taking people up on the offer. We seem to be able to sleep here for now, but hanging out and eating here is not the best. Diana and I spent the morning listening to lots of noise from the construction. We're on Passover break and went to Holy Names to have lunch with Sean, Marianne, and CJ. Then we went to rest at Rachelle's because there was no resting with all the noise here. Hopefully they'll be done in a few weeks.

Construction -- the Roof

The framing part of the project has gone very well this week, despite the rain and a neighborhood power outage. They finished the roof today (well, the wood part of the roof). Right now it looks like they'll get the framing finished this week and start doing demo of the existing kitchen on Monday. Just saying that makes me sound like Rick Rizzs boasting that the M's bullpen hadn't given up an earned run in 16+ innings, just before they gave up a 3-run homer. Hopefully jinxes only work in baseball.

The addition as of Tuesday afternoon

Diana is very excited for the opportunity to play!

Construction: The Floor

Harvy and Leslie's Party

On Sunday we went to Aunt Leslie and Uncle Harvey's 40th Anniversary party. Diana had a great time. She especially loved the cake and dancing.
