Aunt Marianne's Wedding Weekend

This past weekend Marianne and Pat got married. Diana was a flower girl. On Friday we went to get our nails done with Marianne, her friends, and family. On Saturday Diana woke up with pink eye. We took her to the doctor to find out she also had an ear infection. A few hours later she was a flower girl. She did a great job with cousin Chloe. At the party she went from happy and having fun to sick, tired, and needing to leave asap. We took her home and she fell asleep in the car. Grandpa Steven babysat so we could go back to the party. She spent all Sunday at home trying to get well. Dad and Diana spent Monday together while mom went to work. She is finally feeling better. She does have a lingering cough and a bit of a runny nose. This cold has lasted over 3 weeks.

Being silly before the wedding

Diana loved getting her nails done. Green fingernails and blue toenails. She did have a hard time sitting still letting them dry.

Writing and Drawing

Diana has been very busy writing and drawing lately. She has recently started drawing people, and today animals. She has been writing her name and our names. I think her pencil grip hinders her a bit, but she just turned 3. Being a teacher, I have to remind myself that I don't have to correct her all the time. It has been exciting to watch her develop these new skills.

Diana made a thank you card for Ella and wrote many E's for Ella.

Diana wrote her name on one of the thank you cards.

Drawing The Man with the Yellow Hat
from Curious George

Diana began by getting a pink marker to draw her pink monkey (Curious George to Diana). Next she got a yellow marker for the yellow puppy. We found Curious George and the Puppies so Diana could look at the picture. After the puppy she got a blue marker for the clouds. Next she found a marker for the man with the yellow hat. We found a picture of him in the book and she began drawing him.

"Curious George" (pink)
"The Puppy" (yellow)
"clouds" (blue)

Diana has been making lots and lots of cards.
She made one for Dad.

Diana's Ice Cream Party

Diana had her third birthday at Bluebird Ice Cream
She called it her "Ice Cream Party". Ella, Chloe, Nikolas, Zoe, and Alita came to celebrate with her. Nana, Papa Richard, Papa Joe, Colleen, Becky, RJ, and many parents were also there to celebrate. The kids decorated crowns, made necklaces, played with playdough, ate pizza, and had ice cream. It was a busy afternoon of fun.
