New haircut
We took Diana to get her first haircut today. She did really well, until she said "all done" about 2/3 if the way through. Here's a picture of the result:

The Last Few Days
This weekend Grandpa Steven "papa" came to visit. Diana was very excited to see him.
Diana has been practicing using the potty at daycare. We have reports that she pooped in the potty twice. This prompted us to get a potty for our house. She was not interested the first few days. Yesterday she decided she wanted to sit on her potty. She kept getting up and sitting back down. We hope she continues showing interest.

We had our last swimming class on Saturday. Diana seemed to enjoy herself more then our last few classes. Maybe having both mom and dad in the water helped.

Playing basketball with dad
Diana continues learning new words everyday. She is saying a lot of names including: Becky (a new favorite), Barbara, Brett, Ella, Nani, Shell (Rachelle), Grady, and Edgar. Some of her new words include: buckle, bus, animal, and Ernie.

Chloe's Birthday
Chloe celebrated her 2nd birthday on Thursday. CJ and Adrienne also celebrated their birthdays on Thursday. Adrienne turned 21! Sadly we were unable to be in Portland celebrating with Adrienne.

Diana was excited to see their dog Kona. She kept repeating "Dog" every time she saw him.

Nana's Visit
Nana came to visit last weekend. I took off two days while she was here. It was nice to have a long weekend of playing.
One of Diana's favorite activities is reading. She will get a book, go over to the chair, point, and say up. She also enjoys sitting in the chair looking at her First Year book. She says the names of many family members. She says: Nani, Nana, Papa, Barbara, Shell, Mom, DaDa, and Grady.
On Sunday night we went to West Seattle to have dinner with the Harris family. Diana loved all the attention and all the people. We look forward to our next visit when Grandma and Grandpa's kitchen is all finished.
Diana is buckling her seat. She does this with her stroller, dad's bike helmet, and any other buckle she can find. She does need some help unbuckling.

Cheers!!

Hanging out with grandpa
Nana gave Diana her first baby doll. Diana has a little sippy cup to feed her baby.
We went to Salmon Bay Park for the first time. Diana pushed mom on the merry go round. She also enjoyed the sand, swings, and climbing up and down the stairs of the play structure.
Diana loved swinging with Dad. She didn't want to stop.
Diana is growing and changing all the time. She has a large vocabulary now. She knows over 40 words and is learning new words every day. Some of her new words include: buckle, RJ, Grady, hippo, bone, help, pine-cone, and elbow. She has become very steady on her feet. She also uses "no" more frequently.
Diana Painting
I bought paints for Diana a while ago and experimented with finger paining. She was not very interested. She put a little paint on the paper and some on herself. I finally got some nice brushes for her. She spent a long time on her work.
Diana dips the brush into the paint.
Thanks to Rachelle for giving her the lids with a bit of paint. That made it easy for her to get the paint on her own.
Diana tries two brushes at once.

Trying to Stay Cool
It has been way too HOT this week! We all tried to stay cool. We tried to be in air-conditioning in the afternoon to beat the heat. We went shopping, to the library, and out to dinner. On Thursday Marianne and CJ joined us for dinner. We played in water at home, in the swimming pool, at the wading pool, and at the beach. It looks like it should cool down a bit next week. We are all looking forward to cooler temperatures.

Playing in the water at home.

Diana had a lot of fun.
She did end up dumping water all over me, the floor, and herself.

Diana tried mustard for the first time. She seems to like it. She kept dipping her fries and even one blueberry.

We spent the morning at Carkeek Park playing in the sand and water.

Diana loved the water and wanted to keep going out farther.

Diana just got a new pair of Keen sandals.

More reading

Diana figured out how to climb on the tiny ledge around our living room.
