Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day.  Mom let Dad sleep in until 9am.  We went to West Seattle for lunch and dinner.  Diana took a nap in the crib (Thanks, Glenn and Kate!).  The rest of the family came over in the afternoon.  We had fun watching golf and baseball.

Aunt Marianne's Birthday

For Aunt Marianne's birthday we went to Greenlake for dinner.

Diana and the birthday girl.

Diana wanted her entire piece of pizza.

AWWWW!

This week we took Diana to the Zoo.  While visiting the family farm Diana got up close with a cow.  The cows were in the inside barn so Diana could get close to them.  One cow came up to the fence and when Diana put her hand out  it licked her.  She was very shocked.  Then it let out a loud MOOOOOOOO while we were inches away.  Diana did not like that.  She got scared and began to cry.

Gas Works Park with Grandpa

These pictures were taken weeks ago.  I have been extremely busy with the end of school and had no time for posting.  The official school year was over Friday with our big graduation celebration on Wednesday.  It is nice to be finished with all the work.  I will be working this summer and taking a little time off to go to Portland and the Oregon Coast.

Diana had a great time.  She ran (crawled) after the ducks and raced toward the water.

Diana loves grandpa's phone.

Trying on grandpa's hat.

Diana has been talking a lot.  Well, a lot more then she was.  She repeats a lot of words now.  She clearly says "NO".  Luckily she doesn't say it often.  Last night she pointed to my bra and I said, "bra".  She kept pointing and saying, "bra, bra".  She says, "bye, bye".
Diana has also been standing more without holding anything.  She has also been taking a few (1,2, or 3) steps.  She still would rather crawl.

Memorial Day Weekend -- Part One

Over Memorial Day weekend we went to wonderful Packwood, WA for a celebration of sorts.  For those of you who don't know, it was 10 years ago that one of my closest friends, Becky Galentine, passed away from breast cancer.  Her husband Joey wanted to bring Becky's close friends back together to celebrate Becky.

Packwood is close to Mt. Rainier, and we drove out on Saturday after Diana's first nap.  She's decided that being in the car is too much fun, and she's stopped taking naps in the car.  This way she'd get at least one nap.  The drive through Buckley and Enumclaw was relatively uneventful. The drive through the Mt. Rainier National Forest was awesome.  They had just opened the highway, and there was still snow all around.

We rented a cabin in Packwood with Will, Gilbrough, Glenn, and Jessica Clarke.  The cabin was very nice--props to Will for finding it.  It was right on the river and was close to Joey and Erin's cabin.

Diana had a great time in the cabin.  She climbed up the stairs multiple times.  This picture is her looking down at the living room from the top of the staircase.

Everyone had fun playing with Diana.  Will and Diana are actually very similar in maturity, so they got along very well.

Will and I were playing catch outside when we saw these elk.  They were huge--easily 7 feet tall.

I'll post more pictures from the actual party at some point in time...
